Properties: A hardwearing wood with an irregular, interlocking grain. The heartwood is a pale yellow whilst the sapwood ranges from greenish and dark browns and blacks.
Other facts: Being so hardwearing, Palo Alto is frequently used in naval architecture such as propellor bushes and shafts. It is also commonly used in bowling balls.
