We use the finest materials to craft our wooden rings and if they are taken care of correctly they can last a lifetime. We use hardy, resilient wood that requires simple care to look its best, while the precious metal provides integral strength to each ring. The following three steps will ensure your ring stays in wonderful condition for the rest of its life.
1. Clean it gently - To clean your wooden ring simply wash with a lightly dampened microfibre or cotton cloth and gently buff away any marks.
2. Nourish the wood - Although the natural oils from our skin tend to keep wooden rings hydrated, from time to time they can begin to look a little dry and require nourishment from a suitable oil or wax. A small dab of beeswax, coconut oil or olive oil on the wood will offer enough hydration to keep the wood in wonderful condition
3. Avoid extreme heat and water - Our wooden rings are durable enough to wear when showering or bathing, but you should try to avoid prolonged or repeated exposure to extreme heat and water to prevent damage.
-
To maintain the longevity of our wooden rings we recommend that you arrange a professional service with us on a regular basis. The frequency of servicing depends on the lifestyle of the wearer. Please contact us to arrange this service. We will inspect your jewellery to determine the level of service that is required before giving you a price estimate. If you are happy to proceed we will then book the service.
-
We perform all of our woodwork by hand. This allows us to work with the natural form and grain of the wood in order to harness its natural resilience and strength, something which is particularly important when shaping wood around rings. We follow the wood's natural lines when fitting it to silverwork rather than forcing it, and this results in a durable piece of jewellery that stands up to wear and tear in the same way you would expect fine metal rings to tolerate daily use.
-
Yes, our wood inlay rings are suitable for wearing in water. You can confidently wear all of our wood inlaid jewellery while swimming or engaging in water activities. We actually encourage wearing your wood inlay piece consistently, as it allows the wood to adapt to your lifestyle. However, we do suggest removing your wood inlaid jewellery if you frequently swim in chlorinated pools. The chemicals in the water can cause excessive drying of the wood. But for regular activities such as handwashing, showering, or enjoying the sea, there is no problem with wearing the wood inlay rings.

No, none of the metals we utilise in our jewellery contain any nickel. This includes our silver and white gold jewellery.

We strive to operate in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Although we are far from perfect, we are proud of the steps we have taken to operate sustainably and are always working to improve.
Here are seven key areas in which we try to minimise our environmental impact:
1. We use recycled gold and silver.
2. We source wood from a variety of UK suppliers who ensure sustainability by meeting CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora). This ensures our products do not play a role in deforestation.
3. We present our silver items in printed boxes made from 100% recycled materials.
4. We present out gold, titanium, platinum and palladium items in free luxury wooden boxes crafted from sustainable timbers grown under stringent management systems to maintain balance and biodiversity in the surrounding areas.
5. We ship our items in courier packaging made from 100% recycled card.
6. We power the Shiruba Tree workshop using 100% renewable energy.
7. We keep our family-run business small to better manage our energy use and recycling processes.
-
Yes, We offer an upcycling service for your old jewellery, where we can transform your heirloom pieces into new and exciting creations using your own "gold or Platinum." Recycling your existing materials not only benefits the planet but also provides cost savings while adding unparalleled sentimental value to the new item.
Please gather the materials you have, and the more details you can provide, the better we can advise and provide you with a quote. Check the hallmarks on your jewellery to determine the carat of gold used. If possible, measure any stones and use digital kitchen scales to give us an approximate weight.
By providing us with these details, we can ensure that our guidance and pricing are tailored to your specific materials. Together, let's create something extraordinary from your cherished heirlooms.

If you’d like to order a surprise and you don’t know their finger size, there are a few ways to get around this.
1. Size an existing ring:
One option is to see if your intended recipient already owns any rings that you can borrow. If yes, take one to your nearest high street jeweller so they can tell you what size the ring is. If you’re unable to take it to a jewellery store to check the size, you can also draw (as accurately as you can) around the inside of the ring and measure the diameter of the circle. Let us know the diameter, and we can convert this into the ring size. This can be less accurate, so it’s good to have the size of the ring checked on a ring stick if possible.
Bear in mind that the width of the ring affects the fit and feel. If you borrow a 6mm wide ring which is a size O but you want to buy a 2mm band, the size O will likely feel too big, (or too small, if you want to buy a wider band). This will only work if the ring you borrow already fits your intended recipient!
Additionally, try and see if you can note which finger the person wears the ring you’re borrowing on. If you know the width of the ring, the finger they wear it on, and the size it is, we will try to make an educated guess of the size they’ll need for a different finger. It may not be the perfect size, but we should be able to get you to the right ball park!
2. Sample ring:
Alternatively, we can loan you a sample ring. Let us know which ring you’d like to order, and we’ll check what we have in stock that we could send you to use as a stand-in. We don’t always have every design, but we should be able to give you a few options to choose from. We ask for a deposit to send the sample ring to you to use for your surprise. When you know the size you need, we’ll start work on your order. Then, you can swap the specially made ring for the return of the sample, thus avoiding the resizing charge. The price of the deposit we request will depend on the metal and gemstones the sample ring is made from.
